New version, Twitter

A new version of fluorescence is now available through the updater and will automatically be deployed to you.

It contains the new XML GUI code (see the wiki for details) I’ve been working on for the last few weeks. With the new version, it is now easier and more intuitive to create new gumps. No more CSS, all properties can be set directly in XML. Additionally, you can define templates to speed up gump development and create your own theme.

Another major part of the new release are bugfixes. Several critical bugs have been fixed, some of which caused the client to crash. Fluorescence can now handle more UO versions without special config settings, the oldest version I tested was 4.0.0 (good, old days…). Please continue to report bugs to the bugtracker, your feedback is very important. A bug you don’t report is a bug that I can’t fix :)

Of course, there are also a few new UO features included. Most prominently, fluorescence now hides the roofs of buildings.

And since a lot of time has passed since the last news post (in which I was not idle), I set up a Twitter account @fluoSpin. Check it out to get all the small updates about fluorescence that do not make it to the news.

    Hi,

This is amazing work, thanks for all your efforts. I will be testing when I get free time from work.

Can we use this as a normal client for our shards ?

I’m afraid fluorescence is not yet ready for production use. But you are free to do with it whatever you want :)
